Camping can be a great way to get away from the stresses of everyday life and get back in touch with Mother Nature, whether it be by yourself, with a friend, or with your family. There are a lot of people who go camping. Most people over look safety tips when they go camping. Over looking safety is not a good thing to do because things can go wrong if a person isn't prepared. One of the most important things to do is to make sure food is in containers and not out n the open. Wild animals such as bears can smell food. The trash should also be contained because bears will smell the trash and go to the camp site. A person should never leave food or trash on the picnic tables or near the camp site. It is always important to be aware of the surroundings they are in because they are among wild life.

Most people go camping when the weather is warm and the temperatures are high. When it is really hot out it is always important to bring a supply of water and fluids to keep hydrated. If a person is camping for a week they want to make sure they have the proper clothing. Most people don't think the clothes they wear can cause safety issues. Temperatures drop at night and can get very cold so it is important that a person brings a sweat shirt or sleeping bag to keep warm at night. If it gets real cold and a person doesn't have any of these items it can cause that person to get hypothermia.

The most important safety tip when camping is to know who to contact in the camp grounds if there is an emergency. There are rangers that work for the camp grounds that can be contacted.

There’s no doubt that camping is a wonderful experience. The fresh air, the beauty of the trees, the wildlife, sleeping under the stars, it certainly is a unique experience. There are few things that can ruin a camping trip. Bad weather can ruin the fun, as well as animals ransacking your campsite for food, if you didn’t take proper precautions with it, and, of course, bugs.

Useful to the environment, annoying to your average human being, bugs are everywhere. Bug bites itch, stings hurt, and many people are annoyed by them simply flying or crawling around where they are. You can take some steps to avoid the annoyance of bugs and getting bug bites, however.

First is very obvious, wear a good bug spray. Our experiences with bug sprays all vary in what works and what doesn’t. Take some advice from other campers or try some different types out yourself to make sure you have the best protection.

Second, don’t use sweet smelling or just scented altogether hair products or perfumes. In addition, wear dark colors instead of bright and try to wear clothing that covers you well when you can. Wearing bright colors and using scented products attracts bugs and wearing clothing that exposes flesh makes it easier for bugs to get to you.

Finally, you can use insect netting around your campsite to keep the bugs out. Make sure you keep your trash and food covered and all food scraps are in the garbage, not on the ground.

With new gear you know what you are getting, you know the quality, and you know it has never been used. However, buying everything new is going to come at a premium price, and you may not use it all that often. Ok, you're going camping. What should you pack? Well, first of all, you have to pack your camping accessories. You know, tent, camp stove, sleeping bags and such are a given but what else should you take?

Sit down and plan out your camping trip. Plan the meals so you know what food you'll need to take. Planning meals makes it easier to take what you need and a few extras, like s'mores, without overloading your supplies. Remember that when you take food into a wilderness area you have to be sure to keep it up out of reach of any wildlife in the area.

Next on the list should be plastic bags for waste disposal of all types and I mean ALL types. Camping means roughing it not roughing up the environment. This brings me to our next essential. Toilet paper. Unless you want to risk poison ivy or poison oak, take the toilet paper. Another item that is almost an essential is bug repellent. Try to find an environmentally safe one if you can.

One of the most important items on your list should be the first aid kit. When you decide to get one make it count and get a really good one. You never know what may come up that you need to deal with and believe it or not our cell phones don't get reception everywhere.

The best item you could ever take with you while you camp is your brain. Think carefully, pay attention.

Camping is a wonderful, relaxing experience. There’s nothing quite like shrugging off the pressures of life in the town or city and becoming in tune with nature. Though part of the experience is roughing it, you still need quite a few things to make sure your trip goes smoothly.

Camping is a great way to get outdoors, experience new things, and just have fun. Many people enjoy playing various games while on camping trips. Usually these are things that you could play at home. If you want to put away the card or board games and simply enjoy the environment you are in then you may enjoy these fun games that are great for camping trips! These games may be old but I guarantee that you will have a great time while playing them!

A scavenger hunt is always great for camping trips! Although some people think they are old and outdated children and teens all say that they love a good scavenger hunt. Make a list of things you think will be a challenge to find and then let the hunt begin! Whoever finds everything on the list first wins! Add things from nature to your list to make things a bit more interesting. Things like a specific leaf, pine cone or berry are great examples. I like to add a few unique items such as a rock shaped like a heart or something like that to make it just a bit more challenging for older kids!

A few other fun games that kids might enjoy would be tag (or chase whatever you prefer to call it) and even hide-n-seek. Just remember that depending on where you are camping you may need to set boundaries as a safety precaution.

Camping is meant to be an adventure! You can make it even more adventurous by simply being creative. Make up a few games (no matter how silly they are) to play. Later in life you will have memories to tell about... Can’t you see your family and friends sitting around and one of you say, “Hey you remember when we went camping and you made up that silly game and we played it!? That was so much fun!” Remember, games don’t have to have specific rules, they just have to be fun!
