Another important piece of camping gear is a sleeping bag. A Sleeping bag is what you will most likely be sleeping in if your shelter is a tent. Sleeping bags are thick to ensure you are warm all through the night and also to give a little bit of extra comfort when sleeping on the hard ground outside. Sleeping bags are a great idea because it does tend to get a little chilly when camping out in the woods.
Other camping gear that is both fun and necessary is food, water, extra clothing, decks of cards and magazines. Be sure food is wrapped well and kept looked inside of a lock box or your car to make sure bears and other animals don't get a hold of it. Water is important to stay hydrated especially when its hot out. Extra clothing is a good idea because you never know what can happen. Towels, flashlights, batteries, sunscreen, a knife, matches, a first aid kit, and insect repellent are also a great idea to pack when going on a camping trip.
